These pearl earrings come in 14/20 gold filled or sterling silver.
14/20 Gold Filled means that the top layer of 14 Karat gold is applied to a base metal making the top 20% of the piece solid gold. It looks and wears like solid gold but at a fraction of the price. This is different from gold plating, which is a light plating of gold over a base metal, which may easily wear off over time.
